Behind the scenes: 10.00 to 11.00am

10..00am Volunteer Cathedral Stewards arrive for morning duty.
The Cathedral Stewards are the face of the Cathedral as far as visitors are concerned. They are there to answer visitor's questions and help them make the most of their visit.

10.00am Chapter Meeting begins.
Chapter meets once a month and sets the strategy and develops policies that the Chief Executive and the Heads of Department endeavour to deliver on a practical day to day level.

10.00am Restaurant opens for Morning coffee and cakes.
The Shop and the Restaurant are run on behalf of the Cathedral by the Chief Executive as Managing Director of Truro Cathedral Ltd. The profits from these two enterprises are ploughed back into the maintenance of the building.

10.00am Shop Opens and Guide Seller begins in Cathedral.

10.30am Vergers called to unblock drains.
Not one of the verger's most favourite jobs!

10.30am Sacristan prepares the vessels for Holy Communion
The Sacristan has the duty of preparing the Sacraments (wine and bread) for worship. This also includes preparing the altar linen and altar vessels required at a Communion Service.
