Footsteps Towards a Better Climate

Truro Cathedral is one of a number of Cornish organisations that took part in a campaign to get Cornwall's voice heard at the Copenhagen Climate Summit in Denmark in December 2009.

As well as gathering support from people and organisations across Cornwall by getting them to sign a Cornish Declaration, they were also asked to make Pledges to reduce their carbon footprint. The Declaration and Pledges made their way to No.10 and then on to Copenhagen. The success of this campaign demonstrates that Cornish people are aware and active, and trying to change the planet for the better.

This campaign is supported by Cornwall Council, Cornwall Methodist Church, Churches Together in Cornwall, Cornwall Wildlifr Trust, CoaST, Green Party, Cornwall Federation of Women's Institutes, Transition Cornwall and Groundswell, Event Cornwall, Cornwall Friends of the Earth, The Labour Party, The Liberal Democrats, The conservative Party, Mebyon Kernow, Cornwall Area Quakers, The Bishop of Truro, The Eden Project.
