Boy and Girl Choristers

From September 2017 boy Choristers will be recruited into Truro Prep School where scholarships are given and means-tested additional support is available. Auditions are held annually for boys in Year 3 at school and they start in the choir as they enter Year 4 (there are occasionally spaces for boys in other year groups).

Choral Scholars

Choral Scholarships were first set up at the Cathedral in 1995. In addition to the stipend, the Chapter provides accommodation for the scholars who sing join the lay vicars to provide the alto, tenor and bass parts of the Choir.

Organ Scholar

Each year an Organ Scholar is appointed to extend their musical education taking a full share in organ playing duties. Accommodation and stipend are available. Lay Vicars

The lay vicars are the adult members of the Choir who sing the alto, tenor and bass parts. They are supplemented by the Choral Scholars, making a total of four singers per part.
