A Seaside Parish is now into its third series and has branched out from following the busy life of Boscastle vicar, Christine Musser, to include the work of Bishop Bill. There are also some big questions to be answered for the Cathedral Choir.
The programme follows Robert and Chris as they train and prepare the cathedral choir for its various performances, concerts and services. It also takes a look behind the scenes as Richard, the Chief Executive and the Dean, Christopher Hardwick, wrestle with the cost of maintaining this musical excellence.
By the end of 2002 Truro Cathedral was at a crossroads. It was an organisation spending £174,000 more than its income, operating a labyrinthine departmental structure, uncertain of its priorities and existing from crisis to crisis. Richard Glover was then appointed as Chief Executive in August 2003 with the unenviable task of balancing the books, restructuring the management system and developing the Cathedral Quarter Scheme as an income generating asset in the Cathedral Close.
