Canon Pat Robson has put together a cluebook of riddles and rhymes called ‘The Quest – A Celtic Mystery’. “The Celts were great riddle solvers and loved rhymes; I suppose they were the forerunners of Crosswords and the logic puzzles like Sidoku that are so popular nowadays. Well this is the Cornish version; the book contains clues in the form of rhymes which will lead treasure seekers in the footsteps of the Cornish Saints around some of our most fascinating churches. Will you accept the Challenge?”

This CD is a stunning anthology of beautiful sacred choral music for the season of Lent, including Hear my Prayer by Mendelssohn and the famous Miserère by Allegri. Sung by the Cathedral Choir this is yet another of their critically acclaimed recordings adding to their already excellent reputation.
‘I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread he shall live for ever, and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world... He that eateth my flesh and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him (John 6:51-56).
Duruflé choral music is unrivalled in its colour and atmospheric qualities. This recording of the complete choral works, includes the Requiem Mass with its huge range of emotions together with the motets and the lesser-known but thrilling Messe cum jubilo for men’s voices and organ. For this recording the choir is joined by baritone, Dawid Kimburg.
Christopher Gray plays an all-Bach recital on Truro Cathedral's celebrated Father Willis organ. His programme includes the great Toccata and Fugue in D minor alongside chorale preludes (including the profoundly moving 'O mensch bewein'), the Trio Sonata in E minor and various preludes and fugues, including Bach's late masterpiece known as 'The 9/8'. The Willis instrument can be heard in its full romantic splendour in some of the greatest music written for the organ.
A virtuoso recital of music including three debut recordings of music by Paul Spicer. This recording by Robert Sharpe, Musical Director at the Cathedral, captures the huge dynamic range and colour of the Father Willis organ.
Other French and English works include Lemare’s virtuoso transcription of Elgar’s Pomp and Circumstance March No. 1 with its ‘big tune’ – Land of Hope and Glory.
