Stonemasons start work on Cathedral
Stone masons from Carrek Ltd have started work on the BIG restoration following the completion of the scaffolding.
Richard Burrows, site manager for Carrek Ltd, is raring to get on with the £900,000 project. "We've had a few delays because of bad weather, but we're at the point when the real work can start. In the next few days or so we will be undertaking a closer inspection of the stonework just to see if there is any other remedial work that needs doing. Until the scaffolding goes up and we can inspect the stone in detail we can't always be certain that the initial survey has picked up all that needs to be done".
