The preliminery steps towards the start of the restoration of the central tower took place today as a giant crane hoisted a digital camera 150ft into the air to take photos of the central tower.
The images taken will then be mapped together to produce a 3D image of the central tower. This will then be used to identify the type and scale of work required to restore the tower.
