Threads through Revelation is an extraordinary large-scale textile exhibition by acclaimed artist Jacqui Parkinson, bringing the dramatic and visionary final book of the Bible to life through colour, texture and remarkable design and craft.

Comprising 14 monumental textile panels, each being nearly 3m tall, the exhibition explores the extraordinary visions recorded by John in the book of Revelation. Through vibrant silks, paint, metallic leathers and gold leaf, Jacqui reimagines one of the Bible's most challenging and compelling books in a way that is both accessible
and visually stunning.

Created over more than three years, the exhibition invites visitors into a world of powerful symbolism and big themes: hope and judgement, good and evil, heaven and earth, and ultimately the promise of a new creation. While Revelation can often feel confusing or intimidating, these remarkable panels offer a fresh perspective that has helped countless visitors engage with the text in a new way.

Having toured cathedrals and churches across the UK, Threads through Revelation continues to captivate audiences of all ages. Visitors frequently describe the exhibition as breathtaking, inspiring and deeply moving.

Why Revelation? The artist Jacqui Parkinson has always been interested in Revelation because John’s vision is like a picture book with lots of stories and vivid images. A new heaven and new earth. Great themes to expand in visual imagery and, while remaining a difficult book full of so many unknowns, it’s also a fantastic story full of hope!

Sunday Eucharist

This Common Worship service lasts just over an hour and re-lives the Last Supper, where Jesus took bread and wine and said they had become his body and his blood. This service is held in the Nave of the cathedral and culminates in communion.

We welcome back Truro Cathedral Choir from their summer break to lead the music at this service.

Truro Cathedral Roof Tours

See rarely-seen sights with a tour of the cathedral roof spaces.

Explore the hidden world with our exclusive roof space tour at Truro Cathedral. Journey into the cathedral's lofty roof space for unique vantage points, offering seldom-seen perspectives of the architecture and grandeur within. Discover the cathedral's untold stories and gain a newfound appreciation for its history as you navigate this captivating behind-the-scenes experience. Don't miss this extraordinary opportunity to delve into the heart of the cathedral from an entirely new angle.

Tours can last up to 30 minutes and run in 45 min slots between 11:30-13:00. Maximum of 10 people per tour.

Tours on these dates take place during general visiting hours, your £15.50 tour ticket covers your tour. There is no admission charge to visit, however we do encourage donations. All funds raised will directly support the care and upkeep of Truro Cathedral.

Please note

The stairways are steep and narrow, reducing (to 48cm wide) as you ascend over 200 steps. At the top of the first spiral stairway is a short and narrow (45cm wide x 195cm height) corridor leading to the walkway through the Western roof void.

The roof void is traversed by a wooden gangway, which has handrails. You will pass through two voids before arriving over the Crossing, where you can see the cathedral floor and Quire areas. From here you will explore the other roof spaces at the 80ft level. There is a balcony area which you can see over and through above the Crossing. Caution is to be taken when viewing, moving around the rigging and other trip hazards which exist in this space.

When arriving for your tour, please wait at the Welcome Desk. Please arrive 10 minutes prior to your tour start time to ensure that you have time to complete the waiver acknowledging the safety points noted here.

Each tour is facilitated by a guide who will lead the group up the enclosed spiral staircases to the cathedral roof spaces and towers.

Safety Information

This tour is unsuitable for anyone who has any condition or difficulties arising from exertion or any mobility difficulty.
This tour is not suitable for anyone under the age of 11, and under 18’s must be accompanied by an adult.
There are several areas with a low ceiling level. Caution must be undertaken. Safety helmets will be available. There are also hazards at floor level which present risks of trip. The stewards will identify these.
Flat (sensible) footwear must be worn.
Participants are encouraged to wear gloves or must wash their hands at the conclusion of the tour due to the amount of dust on surfaces.
The tour has been risk-assessed. Should a medical incident occur which would result in the need for resuscitation then it is unlikely that this would be successful given the confined space. Similarly, if a medical evacuation is needed then it is unlikely that this would be successful. This risk must be considered by anyone considering taking part in a tour.
Should a tour participant feel that they cannot proceed with the tour at any time, then they will be accompanied to the ground level by a steward.
The tour team will remain in contact with the team on the ground floor at all times.
All guides and stewards have undertaken the required safeguarding training for leading these groups.

2026 sees the tenth series of summer Tuesday lunchtime concerts!

The concerts, which take place mainly on the first and third Tuesdays of the month from May to September, offer a chance to hear just a sample of the wealth of musical talent that exists in Cornwall.

This week's performers are Benjamin Larham on piano and Jeremy Wan on piano/organ.

Concerts last for around forty-five minutes, so offer a perfect break in your shopping trip or your working day. There is no charge to see these concerts, with donations appreciated to support Truro Cathedral Music, particularly Truro Cathedral Choir.

Coffee Morning run by Friends of Truro Cathedral

Held every second Wednesday of the month in the Chapter House, come for a coffee, tea and a chat! Run by the Friends of Truro Cathedral, all are welcome.

There will be a lot of chatter and laughter, homemade cakes will be on sale and raffle tickets can be purchased throughout the morning.

Everybody is welcome to come along, whether they are a Member or not. If you have enjoyed yourself, perhaps you may wish to join!

Organ Concert

The 2026 Truro Cathedral Organ Recital Series welcomes first-rate organists to play Truro’s acclaimed Father Willis Organ.

This weeks organist is Ben Bloor.

Live-stream

The recital will be live-streamed on this page at 13:10 as well as the cathedral YouTube channel.

The series runs from March to October and each recital lasts around 45 minutes. There is no charge to attend or listen to these concerts, and the cathedral only asks that if you are able, you consider making a donation - the income generated by the generosity of both the audience and artists (who play for free) directly supports music at the cathedral and the ability to continue to offer such community events.

Truro Cathedral is a registered charity number 1207821 and relies on public donations to meet costs. Truro Cathedral welcomes regular or single donations from its supporters.

Service of Reflection for People affected by Suicide

This service provides an opportunity for all those affected by suicide to come together in a safe and supportive space to remember those they have lost. All are welcome – of all faiths or none – to this special event. Held on the closest weekend to World Suicide Prevention Day, under the shared umbrella of “Time Together” with a similar service held on the same weekend at St Martin-in-the-Fields in London in recognition and support of a wider community of those who are bereaved.

The Mousehole Male Voice Choir will provide choral music, with a performance by the Hope Singers group for those bereaved by suicide. Rhys Wynn-Jones, also known as the Night Pianist, will also be performing Refreshments will be provided after the service in the Chapter House where there will be an opportunity to meet with those who offer support services in the community. This service is a collaboration between Truro Cathedral, Cornwall’s Suicide Liaison Service, and all agencies in Cornwall that work towards preventing suicide and offer support to those who are left behind.
