Kres (Cornish for “peace”) is a space for stillness, reflection, and creative worship, hosted by Another Way, a pioneering community based in Truro. Inspired by Cornwall’s rich spiritual heritage, Kres weaves together ancient and contemporary expressions of faith through music, poetry, storytelling, and liturgy.

Each gathering explores a different theme—sometimes rooted in the seasons, sometimes in the stories of saints and seekers who have walked before us, and always in the deep questions of life, faith, and reconciliation. We hold in tension the longing for peace and the reality of struggle, both in our own hearts and in the world around us.

Kres is a space for everyone. Whether you come with faith, doubt, or curiosity, you are welcome. We use the language of the Christian tradition while making room for personal reflection and interpretation. You are invited to participate in prayers, songs, and readings as much or as little as you feel comfortable.

The 2026 Truro Cathedral Organ Concert Series welcomes first-rate organists to play Truro’s acclaimed Father Willis Organ.

This weeks organist is Peter King.

The series runs from March to October and each concert lasts around 45 minutes. There is no charge to attend or listen to these, and the cathedral only asks that if you are able, you consider making a donation - the income generated by the generosity of both the audience and artists (who play for free) directly supports music at the cathedral and the ability to continue to offer such community events.

Mediaeval Baebes 30th Anniversary Concert

Mediaeval Baebes set out on their 30th Anniversary Tour, celebrating thirty years of timeless song and ethereal voices.

The genre-defying, classical chart topping vocal ensemble was conceptualised and formed in 1996 by musical director and composer Katharine Blake when she and a group of friends broke into Abney Park Cemetery at midnight to sing madrigals. The group have released 12 studio albums and won an Ivor Novello Award for their performance on the BBC serialisation “The Virgin Queen”. They have also received two Emmy nominations and a Royal Television Society award as the featured artist alongside composer Martin Phipps for the theme tune of ITV’s hit TV show “Victoria”.

This year’s performance draws deeply from their latest album The Spinning Wheel, a richly woven collection of twelve songs for the twelve months,
From frost-bright winter laments to the heat-hazed longing of high summer, ancient texts and new melodies intertwine in a concert rich with ritual, romance, and time-honoured enchantment.
Expect voices that shimmer, stories that linger, and music that feels both ancient and newly born.
Thirty years on, the wheel still turns… and you are invited to listen.

Throughout their many incarnations, the Mediaeval Baebes’ haunting vocals have led them to tour the world, including the UK, United States, Canada, Asia and Europe, in venues ranging from castles and caves to cathedrals and Glastonbury Festival’s Pyramid Stage. They have toured with Jools Holland and played at the Royal Albert Hall, Carnglaze Caverns in Cornwall, Jersey Opera House, Tewkesbury Abbey, supported Michael Flatley in Hyde Park, and performed at the legendary Lilith Fayre.

Truro Cathedral Roof Tours

See rarely-seen sights with a tour of the cathedral roof spaces.

Explore the hidden world with our exclusive roof space tour at Truro Cathedral. Journey into the cathedral's lofty roof space for unique vantage points, offering seldom-seen perspectives of the architecture and grandeur within. Discover the cathedral's untold stories and gain a newfound appreciation for its history as you navigate this captivating behind-the-scenes experience. Don't miss this extraordinary opportunity to delve into the heart of the cathedral from an entirely new angle.

Tours can last up to 30 minutes and run in 45 min slots between 10:00-13:00. Maximum of 10 people per tour.

Tours on these dates take place during general visiting hours, your £15.50 tour ticket covers your tour. There is no admission charge to visit, however we do encourage donations. All funds raised will directly support the care and upkeep of Truro Cathedral.

Please note

The stairways are steep and narrow, reducing (to 48cm wide) as you ascend over 200 steps. At the top of the first spiral stairway is a short and narrow (45cm wide x 195cm height) corridor leading to the walkway through the Western roof void.

The roof void is traversed by a wooden gangway, which has handrails. You will pass through two voids before arriving over the Crossing, where you can see the cathedral floor and Quire areas. From here you will explore the other roof spaces at the 80ft level. There is a balcony area which you can see over and through above the Crossing. Caution is to be taken when viewing, moving around the rigging and other trip hazards which exist in this space.

When arriving for your tour, please wait at the Welcome Desk. Please arrive 10 minutes prior to your tour start time to ensure that you have time to complete the waiver acknowledging the safety points noted here.

Each tour is facilitated by a guide who will lead the group up the enclosed spiral staircases to the cathedral roof spaces and towers.

Safety Information

This tour is unsuitable for anyone who has any condition or difficulties arising from exertion or any mobility difficulty.
This tour is not suitable for anyone under the age of 11, and under 18’s must be accompanied by an adult.
There are several areas with a low ceiling level. Caution must be undertaken. Safety helmets will be available. There are also hazards at floor level which present risks of trip. The stewards will identify these.
Flat (sensible) footwear must be worn.
Participants are encouraged to wear gloves or must wash their hands at the conclusion of the tour due to the amount of dust on surfaces.
The tour has been risk-assessed. Should a medical incident occur which would result in the need for resuscitation then it is unlikely that this would be successful given the confined space. Similarly, if a medical evacuation is needed then it is unlikely that this would be successful. This risk must be considered by anyone considering taking part in a tour.
Should a tour participant feel that they cannot proceed with the tour at any time, then they will be accompanied to the ground level by a steward.
The tour team will remain in contact with the team on the ground floor at all times.
All guides and stewards have undertaken the required safeguarding training for leading these groups.

Lunch at the Long Table

Haircut 100 frontman to bring stripped-back festive shows to historic churches and cathedrals.

Nick Heyward has announced a brand-new UK tour for winter 2026, The 12 Dates of Christmas - a unique run of intimate performances set in some of the country’s most beautiful and atmospheric venues.

The 12-date UK tour will kick off on 14 November at Lincoln Cathedral, reaching Truro on 18 November, and will see Heyward create a special live experience that blends his much-loved catalogue with a festive, acoustic feel.

Best known as the frontman of Haircut 100, Heyward continues to build on a remarkable legacy, with the band’s long-awaited follow-up to Pelican West, Boxing The Compass, set for release on 19 June 2026, marking an exciting new chapter for the band. Heyward is also currently working on new solo material, with more details on this exciting project to follow.

Commenting on the tour Nick said: “I’ve always loved the idea of taking songs back to their essence, and these shows are a chance to do that in some incredible spaces. There’s a real atmosphere around Christmas: reflective, joyful, a bit nostalgic, and it felt like the perfect moment to create something more intimate and personal. I can’t wait!”

These upcoming 2026 shows mark Heyward’s first full UK tour since an intimate acoustic run in Scotland last year, which followed his sell-out band tour in 2024.

Joining him on the tour will be acclaimed guitarist Adam Phillips, known for his work with Tom Robinson, Hamish Stewart and Richard Ashcroft.
