Unlike many other UK cathedrals, the Chapter of Truro Cathedral has taken an important decision not to charge for entry into the cathedral, in line with the cathedral’s vision of offering sacred space and common ground to all.
Truro Cathedral does not receive regular government or Church of England support and is a self-funded organisation. We rely on the public’s vital donations to keep the building open for which costs are estimated to be £1.3 million pounds per year. As well as commercial concerts, the cathedral provides free concerts and free events all year, delivering outstanding choral music, free tours and free activities.
We are currently raising funds for the roof, which has been in place since c1885-1908 and is in urgent need of repair. Truro Cathedral Roof Appeal is hoping to raise £3.2 million to replace the 60,000+ slates and preserve the cathedral for future generations.
We welcome all to our beautiful building for free! Perhaps during your visit you could consider supporting us? Find out more about the different ways to support in our Get Involved section, or make a donation via the 'donate' button on the image above. Thank you.
