Advent Sunday

Advent is a time of joyful expectation as we await the birth of the Saviour. Traditional themes for Advent include watching and waiting, light and darkness, prophecy and expectation. All of these themes are included in this Advent Carol Service. The service will be conducted by candlelight and the procession will move from the west to the east end of the cathedral as we ‘go out to meet him’. Come along to hear traditional readings, Advent hymns and choir anthems. All welcome.

This service will be live-streamed on this page for those who are unable to attend in person. The replay will be available to watch on this page and our YouTube channel after the service has finished. If you have any problems viewing the live-stream or replay, please visit our

This Christmas, and indeed throughout the year, attendance at services and entry to the cathedral remains free. The cathedral relies on public donations to meet its costs. Truro Cathedral has been significantly financially affected by the Covid-19 pandemic and is finding ways to support its community through activities such as live-streaming. If you would like to donate online to support its ongoing work please visit the cathedral
