This Organ Recital will be given by Ryan Kennedy (Christ Church, Bronxville, NY). Ryan is an American concert organist based in New England. He is associate organist at Christ Church Bronxville, NY. Ryan has become known for his adventurous programming, his advocacy of seldom-played masterpieces from the last two centuries, and his transcriptions of orchestral and piano music (including recently, Ravel's Daphnis et Chloé and Mahler's Ninth Symphony). Upcoming engagements include performances of Karg-Elert's Organ Symphony at Hedvig Eleonora Church in Stockholm, and Górecki's Symphony of Sorrowful Songs in Bronxville. Truro Cathedral has one of the finest organs in the country. Built by Father Willis specifically to fit the acoustic of the building, its range, depth and power are truly awe-inspiring.
The weekly Friday lunchtime series runs from March to October and each recital lasts around 50 minutes. These are completely free to attend - donations to support the cathedral's music are appreciated.
