The much loved Pets Carol Service is back for 2021! The service this year is at 2pm on Thursday 30th December – we look forward to seeing you and your non-human friends there.
Truro Cathedral produces services of the highest quality where all those involved know exactly what they need to do to present the great drama of Christian worship. Then, just every now and again, the place descends into a wonderful kind of divine chaos. Never is that more true than at our now famous annual Pet Service – an enormous amount of fun for families, dogs, cats, parrots, gerbils and even chickens. It is 45 minutes of enjoyment, amidst the chaos, that offers at the same time the message that people find some of the best expressions of unconditional love in their lives from furry, feathered, and scaly friends. We give thanks for all of that at the service and we have a good post-Christmas day time together – and worry not, the vergers are never far away with mops and buckets.
In light of the government’s ‘Plan B’ announcement, wearing a mask is compulsory in all areas of the cathedral unless you are exempt.
Booking is not necessary for this service.
This service will be live-streamed on this page for those who are unable to attend in person. The replay will be available to watch on this page and our YouTube channel after the service has finished. If you have any problems viewing the live-stream or replay, please visit our YOUTUBE CHANNEL
The cathedral is at the heart of Christmas, with festive events and services (including live-streaming), and free entry to all who visit. We rely on public donations at Christmas, and throughout the year, to continue to offer sacred space and common ground to our community. Please give what you can this Christmas to help us continue our essential work and pass on what is precious to future generations.
To give regularly by Direct Debit, please use the Parish Giving Scheme. Single donations can be made through JustGiving.
