Thatching of the Crib

The famous Truro Cathedral crib is one of the most eye-catching features of the cathedral during the Christmas period. The thatching of the roof, first thatched in December 1961 by Roger Williams and John Dyer will be thatched this evening from 18:15 onwards. Our thanks to Paul Goldsworthy of G W Viant Thatchers, based in Redruth, who with a team, thatches the roof for us each year.  The crib remains in place until the Feast of Candlemas, the 2 February.
