The Installation of the Bishop of Truro

The 16th Bishop of Truro, Philip Mounstephen, will at this service formally occupy his ‘cathedra’, the official Bishop seat.  The Dean of Truro, the Very Revd Roger Bush, will present him with Bishop Benson’s ‘crosier’, or pastoral staff, a special link with the first Bishop of Truro.

Anybody who would like to attend is invited to apply for tickets. Where seating is full in the cathedral St Mary's Aisle will be opened up where the service will be broadcast onto large screens in the aisle.

Entry to the event is by ticket only. People who would like to attend the service can apply for a pair of tickets by emailing, or if they are not on email can call into the cathedral office at the Old Cathedral School for tickets. Some tickets will be available from the cathedral office until 11:00am on the day, but people are asked to arrange in advance if at all possible to ensure there is enough capacity and that everybody is catered for.

In a break from tradition, only those taking part in the service will have reserved seating, as Bishop Philip is keen to ensure the event is truly for ‘one and all’.
