Our Cathedral Lent Course this year will be entitled ‘Daring to See God Now’ and has been written by the Bishop of Leeds, Rt Revd Nick Baines – someone who quite often speaks on behalf of the Church through the media. Mark’s Gospel begins with Jesus ‘proclaiming the Good news of God’. But, what is this ‘good news’, and who is it for? Taking Mark 1.14-15 as a starting point, this course raises important questions about change, repentance, and how we can become in ourselves living evidence of the good news. Examples are taken from the rest of Mark’s Gospel as well as contemporary and historic Christians.
We will be meeting for the course beginning on Tuesday 5th March at 7.30pm, in the St Luke’s Room of the Old Cathedral School, by the Cathedral Green where the Cathedral offices are now located. There will be somebody around on the door on the night to show you the way to go. We should be winding up our sessions by 9.00pm and the course will run for 5, Tuesday evenings finishing on the 2nd April.
We would be delighted to see you there. In order that we can have enough course materials ready for the group it would be helpful for us if you were to register an interest by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org – or phoning the Cathedral office on 01872 276782.
