Canon Simon Retires

As Canon Precentor for the past 8 years at Truro Cathedral, we share the news of Rev’d Simon Griffiths' upcoming retirement on 31 March. Following an extended period of leave due to health considerations, we extend our warmest thanks to Canon Simon for his dedicated service to the cathedral, with a particular focus on its musical, liturgical, and pastoral life.

Canon Simon has served the church in various settings, churches, and cathedrals. Having been ordained in the Church in Wales, Simon has served in both Wales and England. His previous roles included Chaplain of University College Chichester and Succentor at Rochester Cathedral. He was also a vicar in Sheffield, working with various local authority agencies and voluntary organisations supporting the homeless, and people suffering addictions and mental health issues. Before joining Truro Cathedral in 2016 as Canon Precentor, Simon was Rector of Central Swansea.

We offer our prayers and best wishes as he embarks on a well-deserved retirement in Cornwall, embracing the next chapter of his life and ministry.
