Mars Celestial Heights Tour
See Luke Jerram’s captivating touring artwork, Mars: War and Peace from a unique perspective by taking a Celestial Heights Tour. During this approximately 30-minute guided tour, you’ll access usually hidden parts of the cathedral as you ascend the small stone spiral staircase then walk through the cathedral roof space before arriving at the High-Level Gallery.
From here you can gaze down upon Mars allowing you to view and take photographs of the red planet’s north pole from above. You can also spot ‘Olympus Mons’ the largest volcano in the solar system and prominent craters ‘Lomonosov’ and ‘Korolev’.
Tickets are £20 per person and include admission to the Mars by Night session, with all funds raised directly supporting the care and upkeep of Truro Cathedral.

This tour involves ascending a tight, steep 120-step spiral staircase and walking across narrow wooden gangways, so you must be reasonably fit and comfortable in small spaces. Unfortunately, this tour is not suitable for anyone under the age of 11, and under 18’s must be accompanied by an adult. Unfortunately, anyone with a medical condition affected by exercise, activity or exertion cannot take part in these tours. Participation in the tour will require completion of a waiver.
