The cathedral has a number of spaces available to hire. These flexible spaces can suit many different functions such as faith events, dinners, lectures, parties, receptions, fundraisers and meetings.

Old Cathedral School

This is a modern conference and events facility in a beautifully traditional setting, right in the heart of Truro, Cornwall. Situated next to the Cathedral Green, the Old Cathedral School has a history that dates back to 1549 when it was first used as a Church of England school for boys in Truro. Following the completion of Truro Cathedral, it was responsible for educating the Truro Cathedral Choir Choristers and hence became known as the Cathedral School.  The school was closed in 1982 and turned into office space for a number of years before the building fell into significant disrepair.  In 2018, following major fundraising efforts and a £1.5m restoration project, the Old Cathedral School opened its doors to the community once again and is now a thriving hub for music, art and education.

The largest of the conference spaces, the Assembly Hall showcases many of the building’s beautiful and unique features making it a breath-taking venue for performances, seminars, or even dinners.  Its high ceilings and large original mullioned leaded glass windows mean the room is bathed in natural light, and a stunning stained-glass window provides an unforgettable focal point.

  • Theatre  – 80 people
  • Cabaret  – 40 people


One of the most popular rooms for meeting and training events, St Luke’s room is bright, welcoming and flexible. The room links to The Balcony (available to book separately) via sliding glass doors, allowing you to create the perfect space to network and enjoy refreshments before your meeting or event.

With views over Cathedral Green, the Balcony can be booked in addition to St Luke’s Room to provide the perfect breakout area, or space to network and enjoy refreshments before your meeting or event.


Airy and light from beautifully restored mullioned glass windows on one wall, the Board Room is the perfect space for smaller meetings or seminars. As the name suggests, the room is particularly suited to a boardroom layout, seating up to 14 delegates comfortably.

Tucked away in the corner of the first floor, this dual aspect room provides a quiet space for up to 36 delegates. A dedicated catering area makes it an ideal choice for all-day meetings, with several options available from our in-house restaurant team.
