Pastoral
Our doors are open to everyone, especially those who want to talk to someone about something that is troubling and those who are feeling lonely and those who seek spiritual support. Whether you want to share a concern or want someone to pray with you, our clergy and chaplains are always ready to greet you with a friendly ear and offer support.
CHAPLAINS
Our Chaplains are lay or ordained ministers of the Church of England. We aim to have a chaplain available in the cathedral every midweek day to offer pastoral support. You don’t have to attend church. Christ calls us to love our neighbour and we see it as part of the ministry of the cathedral to offer emotional and spiritual support to one and all.
PRAYER
In addition to the ministry of chaplains and cathedral clergy, there are several candle stands round the cathedral to pray and light a candle in memory of a loved one. There is a prayer box close to St Mary’s Aisle for prayer requests which will then be included in the prayers at a communion services.
