Bio

Michael is the organist and an academic music teacher at Marlborough College where he plays for chapel services, accompanies the choirs, and is involved with the vast array of musical activities occurring at the college.

He was a chorister and later assistant director of music at St Mary’s Cathedral, Sydney, where he was the principal accompanist for the cathedral choir and directed the St Mary's Singers. He studied at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, graduating in 2016 with a B.Mus.

In 2017 he moved to London to study at the Royal Academy of Music with Professor David Titterington. During this time, he held organ scholarships at Westminster Cathedral, Royal Hospital Chelsea and Kings College London which involved numerous concert performances, broadcasts, and a tour to the USA.

Upon graduating with an MA from the Royal Academy, Michael spent a year as assistant director of music at Truro Cathedral working regularly with the boy and girl choristers and playing the famous Father Willis cathedral organ for daily services.

The series runs from March to October and each recital lasts around 45 minutes. There is no charge to attend or listen to these concerts. We rely on your support to help with the cost of maintaining the cathedral’s famous Father Willis Organ. Keeping the cathedral’s musical instruments in first-rate condition enables us to put on such recitals as you have heard today.
