This week, we welcome Simon Jacobs as our recitalist.
Bio
Simon Jacobs enjoys a multi-faceted musical career as an organist, conductor, pianist and singer throughout the United States and Europe. He was born in Truro to a musical family, and received his early musical training as a chorister at Truro Cathedral. He went on to receive degrees in music and choral conducting from Christ’s College, Cambridge and Yale University, and spent consecutive years as Organ Scholar at Salisbury Cathedral and Westminster Abbey. From April to July 2017, Simon was Acting Assistant Organist at Truro Cathedral.
In addition to his performing work, Simon is an on-air radio host at the classical and jazz stations in Colorado Springs, USA, where he presents special organ and choral programmes. He collaborates regularly with some of the area’s top ensembles, such as The Chamber Orchestra of the Springs, the Colorado Vocal Arts Ensemble, and the St. Martin’s Chamber Choir in Denver, Colorado. Simon is also involved in professional musical theatre, as a regular music director and keyboardist with the Fine Arts Theatre Company in Colorado Springs. He is an Associate of the Royal College of Organists.

Live-stream
The series runs from March to October and each recital lasts around 45 minutes. There is no charge to attend or listen to these concerts, and the cathedral only asks that if you are able, you consider making a donation - the income generated by the generosity of both the audience and artists (who play for free) directly supports music at the cathedral and the ability to continue to offer such community events.
Truro Cathedral is a registered charity number 1207821 and relies on public donations to meet costs. Truro Cathedral welcomes regular or single donations from its supporters.
