Bio
Victoria Ulriksen (b. 2006) studies organ in her bachelor’s degree at the Norwegian Academy of Music with cantor and professor Kåre Nordstoga, and fortepiano and modern piano with professor emerita Liv Glaser.
Already in 2019, she made a name for herself with several appearances on Norway’s Got Talent on TV2. She has received prizes in competitions both at home and abroad, including 1st prize in the final of the Youth Music Championship and the audience prize in the international Maria Hofer Orgelwettbewerb 2023.
She regularly gives solo concerts in Norway, at Nidaros Cathedral and Oslo Cathedral, and abroad where she has played concerts on Scandinavia’s only Cavaillé-Coll organ in Copenhagen and on a historic Serassi organ in Bergamo, Italy. In the spring of 2024, she played a recital at Uppsala Cathedral, which is the largest church in Scandinavia.
She has played several concerts at a number of festivals such as the Oslo International Church Music Festival and has played for several years at the opening of the Salzburg Festival, as well as various places in Germany, Switzerland and Liechtenstein.
In 2024, she will tour cathedrals in England (Truro and Blackburn), as well as play multiple concerts during Bergen International Organ Festival, summer recital in Fraumünster Zürich, Haderslev Cathedral, and at the Cavaillé-Coll organ in the Jesus Church in Copenhagen during the Nordic Church Music Festival.
Next year’s England-tour already includes cathedrals such as Southwark, Bradford, Blackburn, and St Chad’s in Birmingham.
Live-stream
The series runs from March to October and each recital lasts around 45 minutes. There is no charge to attend or listen to these concerts. We rely on your support to help with the cost of maintaining the cathedral’s famous Father Willis Organ. Keeping the cathedral’s musical instruments in first-rate condition enables us to put on such recitals.
