Goodbye, good luck and thank you!

Members of Truro Cathedral choral foundation standing in front of the high altar in the cathedral

The annual Evensong and Valediction Service took place at the end of the summer term, where Truro Cathedral Choir waved a fond farewell to 13 members of its choral foundation; choristers, choral scholars and organ scholar. “The end of the summer term is always bittersweet,” said Christopher Gray, Director of Music. “On the one hand we’re all very ready for a summer break, but on the other it marks the end of a particular era for the choir. We are truly blessed with the choristers and scholars we have the pleasure of working with here at the cathedral – the individual and collective achievements of whom are staggering. I extend my sincere thanks to every one of them and wish Benji, Oliver, Elinor, Molly, Sarah, Naomi, Joanna, Louise, Toshi, Jaivin, Michael, James and Carolyn nothing but success in their futures.”

In September, 16 new choristers and scholars will join the choir. Look out for more information in the winter edition of our brochure and on our News page.
