New Dean of Truro Cathedral Officially Installed
On 21 January the new Dean of Truro Cathedral and Rector of St Mary’s Parish, Truro was installed by the Bishop of St Germans, The Right Rev'd Hugh Nelson. Dean Simon Robinson first came to Truro Cathedral as Interim Dean in October 2022. His Majesty The King approved the nomination of Canon Simon as Dean in August last year.

A packed cathedral from the local community as well as people from all over the UK, including family, friends, faith leaders and civic dignitaries gathered at Truro Cathedral on Sunday for the Evensong service, which included the Collation, Induction and Installation of Canon Simon Robinson as the new Dean of Truro and Rector of St Mary’s Parish, Truro. The service sung by Truro Cathedral Choir, was also live-streamed and is available on the Truro Cathedral YouTube channel.

Lay Chapter Canon and member of the Chapter of Truro Cathedral, Daphne Skinnard said after the service "It was an honour to witness this historic and joyful occasion. Simon brings great strengths to the cathedral and local community, and we are delighted he is with us."
Dean Simon says: Working at Cornwall’s great cathedral here in Truro over the past year has been such a privilege. I have so loved being in Cornwall and knowing that I am now staying here fills me with joy. I pray and hope that together we can secure the next part of the journey for the cathedral for the whole Cornish community. Thank you for the very many kind words and the ongoing support”.
