Piano Concert Series

Pianist Paul Comeau holding a sheet of music

It has been a privilege to live and work in Cornwall for well over thirty years, in such a vibrant musical community. When I organised a fundraising Bach piano marathon in the Cathedral five years ago, forty-five pianists took part; it made one realise just how many excellent, often self-effacing pianists there are in the county.

Whilst the piano is normally centre-stage for the cathedral Tuesday lunchtime concerts, the theme I have always encouraged is one in which the piano is part of a team working with other performers. There are countless singers and instrumentalists in Cornwall, many of them both very fine musicians and extremely dedicated teachers. The concerts which I organise give a solo or small ensemble platform for these musicians, whilst providing some lovely music to listen to and also raising money for Truro Cathedral Music. I do hope that many of you will be able to come and enjoy these concerts. Admission is free, but donations to Truro Cathedral Music are gratefully received.
