Carols with Pride
Carols with Pride.
Come and join the celebration of the Christmas story with Cornwall Pride. This service tells the story of the Love that came down at Christmas and celebrates love and diversity. We welcome everyone, including the LGBTQI+ community, their families, friends and allies to join us on this joyous occasion. The carols, readings, and music services will include carols sung with Truro Chamber Choir and Vocal Presence, including traditional and well-loved favourite carols.
We are also thrilled to welcome guest speaker and drag artist Barbara, who will reflect on their remarkable personal journey in discussion with the Dean, concluding with an audience Q&A.
Barbara is a London based drag artist who has been on the scene for 15 years. From DJing to hosting, comedy to cabaret she has traversed nightlife. Her passion for queer education and spiritual inclusion has led her around the country where she has spoken at universities, institutions, and festivals on the importance of Faith, Queerness, and the power of your voice. Her passion for helping young people navigate the chaos of a homophobic and transphobic society and live in the power of their resilience and joy is thematic through her work. She is currently working towards ordained ministry within the church of England to invoke change and mirror a Christ who is all embracing.
Please note that this service will not be live-streamed.
