Mothers' Union Lady Day

Join Mothers’ Union members for a special Lady Day service in the cathedral of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Truro. This touching service commemorates the Annunciation – the visit of the Angel Gabriel to Mary, in which he announced that she would become the mother of Jesus.

This service is open to all, and refreshments will be served in the Chapter House afterwards.

Mothers’ Union is a worldwide Christian movement 4 million strong. It was founded in 1876, and they celebrate their 150th anniversary this year with their Patrons HRH The Duchess of Edinburgh and the new Archbishop of Canterbury, The Rt Revd Dame Sarah Mullally.

Internationally, Mothers’ Union members take a faith-based and community-led approach to tackling poverty, injustice and violence against women and girls. In Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly they support these campaigns and believe that God wants people to flourish through happy family lives. Their branch members come together to enjoy good company, pray for parents and children, and do what they can to help.

Everyone – members, friends and supporters - are welcome to their sociable meetings.
