Celebrating our new Lay Pastoral Ministers

For eight members of the cathedral family, Bishop Philip’s packed service on 2 February 2019 was doubly special. Not only was it the first formal service taken by the new Bishop of Truro in the cathedral, but it was also the service during which he celebrated lay ministry and formally commissioned the individuals as Lay Pastoral Ministers.

Congratulations go to Charles Butchart, Pam Miller, Mard Sellwood, Carolyn Hendra, Susan Odgers, Helen Bowden, Pam McCleod and Beverly Hulme, who all completed the diocesan training to be accredited as diocesan Lay Pastoral Ministers. Canon Pastor, Lynda Barley, said, “The cathedral is blessed with the caring and professional expertise of these volunteer network team leaders who give selflessly of their time and commitment.”
