Looking forward to Bishop Philip's installation on Saturday

The 16th Bishop of Truro, the Rt Revd Philip Mounstephen, will be formally welcomed to the diocese at a service at Truro Cathedral on Saturday (January 12, 2019). Hundreds of people from all walks of life have already accepted their invitations to the service and from Monday, January 7, anybody who would like to attend is invited to apply for tickets.

Once the seats in the cathedral are committed, people will be given tickets to view the event in St Mary's Aisle, where the service can be viewed on a large screen in the aisle.

People who would like to attend the service can apply for a pair of tickets by emailing bishopswelcome@trurocathedral.org.uk, or if they are not on email can call into the cathedral office at the Old Cathedral School for tickets. Once the cathedral has reached capacity, tickets will be offered for St Mary's Aisle.

In a break from tradition, only those taking part in the service will have reserved seating, as Bishop Philip is keen to ensure the event is truly for ‘one and all’.

The service of welcome will begin at noon, on Saturday, January 12, 2019.
